Amanda put on an amazing karate show for the whole school at our final learning celebration! WOW! We were all so impressed with how she broke a piece of wood with her elbow. Very cool Amanda!

2019 Literary Festival

The end to a very busy week was celebrated by a group of Marama students who joined workshops at the 2019 Literary Festival. We were fortunate enough to take part in an illustration workshop, a map-making workshop and a screen-writers workshop. Once again Marama shined with amazing manners, pride and respect. It is always a pleasure to embark on an adventure outside the classroom with you 😄 Congratulations to Amanda who won a prize for her story writing!

Student Led Learning Conferences

We are super proud of our students for leading their learning with such pride yesterday. Our student led conferences are all about our students, giving them the opportunity to lead and take ownership of their learning. On questioning our class prior to learning conferences, they were able to articulate the purpose of student led conferences so well, as well as explaining what the roles of students, parents and teachers are. What an amazing bunch of learners we have! Thank you so much to all of our parents who gave their undivided attention to their child and made it such a positive experience!

Gumboot Friday

Upper Moutere School got behind Gumboot Friday to raise money for children's mental health. The Year 8 House Leaders organised activities for the children in their houses, such as gumboot races, three-legged races and gumboot dancing. It was lots of fun! Thank you to Harry and Barney for presenting about Gumboot Day at our Learning Celebration and to everyone who donated money and got involved in the day.
